In what sizes are the glass boards available?
We offer the cutting boards in two sizes:
large - 39 x 28 cm (15,35 x 11,02")
small - 28 x 20 cm (11,02 x 7,87")
Aren't glass cutting boards very fragile?
No, not at all; if used properly, the board is very stable and usually
won’t break even if you drop it on the floor (we tried it out and dropped boards of both sizes from a height of about one meter onto a concrete floor - both boards remained intact and had no cracks). The board also withstands hard placement of bowls, etc. without any problems.
What you should not do: Glass will crack when exposed to large temperature differences, so please do not put the boards from the fridge into a hot oven or vice versa, for example. However, you can place a hot pot on them without any problem, as the boards are heat-resistant up to a maximum of 190ºC.

How can I clean the cutting board?
The boards can be easily cleaned under running water or wiped with a damp cloth if, for example, you have only cut vegetables or bread on them.
If you have prepared meat, fish or something fatty on the board, use some additional dishwashing liquid to wash it off.
What are the advantages of a glass cutting board?
Our glass cutting boards
- do not scratch – when cutting, knives leave grooves and scratches in the surface of wooden or plastic boards over time; this does not look nice, but it can also cause small wood or plastic chips to get into the food, which is neither healthy nor appetizing.
- are very hygienic - since no scratches or grooves form on the hard surface, no harmful germs or bacteria can settle there. The board can be cleaned easily and without leaving any residue and can be used again immediately after wiping or rinsing. Wooden boards, for example, are initially damp after washing and need to dry for a while before they can be put away in the cupboard or used again.
- do not discolor (e.g. when cutting red beet) and do not absorb odors (e.g. from fish, garlic)
- can be used in many ways – not only as a cutting board, but also as a serving plate, coaster on the dining table, breakfast board, for storing spices, vinegar & oil, etc.
- are a decorative element in the kitchen and dining room – after use, I don't put my board away in the cupboard, but simply place it on the worktop against the kitchen wall; it's a nice eye-catcher and is also practical because I can reach for it again in one go
I read that knives become dull when cut on glass, is that true?
Since glass (and also stone/ceramic) is harder than the metal of a knife, knife blades become blunt more quickly when used on glass cutting boards. If you use super expensive knives in the kitchen, I would actually not recommend cutting on a glass board.
However, when using "normal" household kitchen knives (like the ones I have) I don't see any problem with this. For me, the advantages of a glass board clearly outweigh the disadvantages (see above). I used to always use wooden boards and I didn't notice any big difference compared to the glass boards I use now. I sharpen my knives anyway when I need to by quickly drawing the blunt blade several times at a slight angle along the blade of another knife (of course this doesn't work with serrated knives). It's really quick and easy and works wonderfully.
Won't the glass get scratched if I cut it with a knife?
No, the glass surface does not scratch.
Why shouldn't the glass board be cleaned in the dishwasher?
Cleaning in the dishwasher can damage the polymer coating on the back of the board, causing the color of the image underneath to come off.
Can I put hot pots or bowls on the glass board?
The boards are heat-resistant up to a maximum of 190ºC, so a hot pot can be placed on them without any problem.

You can use our glass boards in many different ways:
- for cutting and preparing food in the kitchen;
- as a colorful eye-catcher – after use, you can simply lean the board against the kitchen wall as a decoration and have it there always within reach
- for serving food - for example, a cheese platter can be beautifully arranged on it;
- as a coaster for oil and vinegar bottles - dripping oil or vinegar drops cannot soak into the surface and can be easily wiped off; there are no stains or lingering odors;
- as a coaster for candles or base for flower decoration - depending on the occasion (e.g. Valentine's Day or Christmas), the boards are a special eye-catcher on a beautifully set table
- as abreakfast boards for the whole family – so each family member can have a board with a favorite motif or, for example, boards with winter and Christmas motifs can be used during the Advent season, for example
The rubber feet on my cutting board have fallen off, what can I do?
The feet can be reattached to the underside of the board using non-water-soluble universal glue/all-purpose glue. Replacement feet can be bought cheaply online, for example on eBay.
